Who we are
Integrated Groundnut Farmers Association of Nigeria
IGFAN
Integrated Farmer’s Association of Nigeria (IGFAN) seeks to ensure that Nigeria can earn significant foreign exchange income from groundnut and groundnut products. We plan to achieve this goal by working closely with local farmers to ensure that they follow best farming practices that enable them produce groundnut to international standards.
The potential of groundnut production in Nigeria has been hampered by a combination of groundnut rosette epidemics and foliar diseases, aflatoxin contamination and lack of sufficient and consistent supply of seed of improved varieties. This has led to significantly lower production and as a result loss of share in the domestic, regional and international markets.
IGFAN aims to methodically address these issues by working effectively with key partners to substantially increase groundnut yield and quality by adopting best farming practices and using yield enhancing technologies.
